There are however a few simple tips and tricks that can be used regardless what form of Poker you are playing. These are the general Poker tips and tricks that can be used to enhance game play.

Position is everything: Where you are sitting at the Poker table means everything. When you are the last person to decide what you are doing, you already have some inside information as to what players have in their hands. If they bet strong they may have a good hand, where as if they are reluctant and bet low they may not be as confident in having a potential not so good hand.

Stay where you are: It is very important that once you choose a Poker table stay there. It will take a few hands to get used to the other players and decide what their tells are. Once found however this will work in your favor, you will get a better feel for how good or how weak a hand potentially is.

Study Study Study: When it’s not your turn pay close attention to every detail of your opponents. Watch their facial expressions, their body language, the way they talk, tone of voice. There are many different ways a player will show that they have a good, or weak hand. By paying attention to every detail, without looking obvious, you will gain a bit of an advantage know when to press on and when to fold.

Bluff on purpose: As in our article regarding Texas Hold ‘em, get caught bluffing. Don’t make it too obvious, but give some fake tells so it will through off your opponents and help you when it really comes time to bluff.

Learn from free games: If you are a novice Poker player play as many free games as you can to get used to Poker. After you start feeling more comfortable with Poker move up to low stakes Poker and ease into the Poker scene gaining experience and knowledge along the way.

Read, Absorb and then Read some more: Find as many books and on line resources as you can. The more exposure you have to Poker resources the more it will become second nature to you. There are many great resources available regarding Poker most of which are put together in a friendly manner that opens up Poker and can expose a whole new world. But don’t over load your self, take some time to absorb what you read and put it to practice, then hit the books again and absorb some more.
